Glenville, W.Va. – It was the largest track meet in Glenville State College history this past weekend as the Pioneer Track & Field team hosted the Brandi Bowen Memorial Invitational. Morris Stadium saw 14 teams and over 700-plus athletes roll into the confines of the stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
The GSC men's and women's team both had a great showing in the meet.
What Happened
Women's
The Lady Pioneers finished overall fifth, scoring 42 points in the two days.
Della Mooreland placed third overall heptathlon. She took third in the 100 meter, fifth in the high jump, sixth in the shot put, third in the 200 meter, third in the long jump, ninth in the javelin, and second in the 800-meter race.
Ny'Tierra Hobbs had two top three finishes in the meet. She took third in the 100 meter with a time of 12.94 and placed third in the 200 meter with a time of 26.49.
In the javelin, Kaitlyn Luterak finished fourth in with a throw of 27.94 meters.
Alexis Sirk took second in the 400-meter dash with a running time of 62.55.

The Pioneers finished fourth overall scoring 55 points.

In the decathlon,
Mikey Null took fifth overall scoring 4,246 points while fellow Pioneer
Samuel Pollard came in seventh scoring 3,869 points.

Otis Cox had a great day for GSC, he took seventh in the 100-meter dash with a 11.36 time and then finished ninth in the 200-meter with a time of 23.26.

Shawn Arthur won the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.71 while teammate
Haden Coon finished fourth with a time of 58.50.

Brody Strawderman had three finishes in the top seven. He took fourth in the hammer, with a throw of 49.89 meters, which was also a new school record. He then took seventh in the discus and seventh in the shot put. In the discus, he had a throw of 38.62 meters and throw 12.67 meters in the shot put.

Haden Coon also walked away with a win in the pole vault as he vaulted 4.25 meters.

Glenville State then won the 4x100 relay with a time of 42.87. The members of the 4x100 team are,
