Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball team defeated West Chester in their season opener on the road Saturday 112-85 as they picked up their first win.

Glenville State (1-0) had five players score in double figures and shot 44 percent from the floor and 40 percent from behind the arc.

Julie Bishop and Kristin DesRocher each scored 18 point on the night while Brittany Jackson chipped in with 17 points. Also for GSC Paris McLeod scored 15 points and handed out a game high six assists and Tayana Stewart scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds.

West Chester was led by Madison Torresin as she scored a game high 27 points.

Glenville State will return to action tomorrow, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. as they will take on Edinboro University.
