Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer basketball team dropped their season opener on the road Saturday to Shepherd University falling by three, 89-86.
Glenville State (0-1, 0-1) had three players post double figures with newcomer
Jon Dunmyer having a career night scoring a game and season high 31 points nailing eight three-pointers in the ball game.
Shepherd (2-1, 1-0) had a big advantage on the inside outscoring GSC 46 to 24 in the paint. The Pioneers bench provided a lift for GSC as they outscored the Rams bench 16-4.
Terry Davis Jr. chipped in with 19 points for the Pioneers and grabbed seven rebounds while
Brett Morris posted a double-double scoring 13 points and pulled down a game high 12 rebounds. With those 13 points scored by Morris he now has scored over 1,000 points in his Pioneer career.
Glenville State will now travel to Fairmont State this Monday, November 21
st for a 7:30 p.m. match-up with the Falcons in a big MEC rivalry.
