Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State Lady Pioneers suffered their first loss of the season as they fell on the road Monday at Fairmont State, 96-92.

The Lady Pioneers (3-1, 1-1) would struggle early as they only managed to score 10 points in the first quarter as Fairmont State (3-2, 1-1) took a six point lead after one, 16-10.

However GSC would have a great second quarter as they outscored FSU, 33 to 28, but the Falcons still led at halftime, 44-43.

In the third quarter both teams would go back and fourth as they each scored 27 points in the quarter however FSU still held a one point lead entering the fourth, 71-70.

Late in the fourth, GSC would tie the game up at 86-86 as Brittany Jackson nailed a deep three-pointer, but FSU would answer back with a three-pointer of their own as they took an 89-86 lead with just 1:33 to play.

Glenville State would have several attempts late in the game but could not get it to fall as the Falcons would hit their free-throws as FSU went on to defeat the Lady Pioneers, 96-92.

Fairmont State had the better shooting night as they shot 52 percent from the floor while Glenville State shot just 38 percent. Both teams turned it over 21 times while GSC scored 27 points off of them and FSU scored 28 points.

The Lady Pioneers were led by Brittany Jackson as she scored a team high 20 points. Julie Bishop hit five three-pointers in the game as she finished with 17 points and five assists.

Paris McLeod chipped in with 16 points and four assists while Tayana Stewart scored 11 points. Courtney Davis scored just two points but pulled down a team high 12 rebounds.

Fairmont State was led by Deidra Combs as she scored a game high 31 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

The Lady Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday, November 30^th as they travel to Athens, W.Va. for a 5:30 p.m. match-up with Concord University.
