Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers got back in the win column on Wednesday night as they defeated the Concord University Mountain Lions on the road by 27 points, 114-87.
The Lady Pioneers (4-1, 2-1) only took a two point lead into halftime over the Mountain Lions (1-5, 0-3), 47-45. However in the third quarter GSC would pull away as they outscored Concord 37 to 19 as the Lady Pioneers held an 84-64 lead heading into the fourth.
It would be all GSC in the fourth as they picked up the victory.
Glenville State forced 27 turnovers and scored 34 points off of them. The Lady Pioneers also outscored the Mountain Lions in the paint 46 to 41.
The Lady Pioneers had five players score in double figures with three of them scoring 20 points or more with
Kristin DesRocher scoring a game high 22 points as she went 6-of-12 from deep. DesRocher also had six rebounds in the game.
Brittany Jackson scored 21 points while
Paris McLeod chipped in with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Newcomer
Odyssey Trussell scored a season high 15 points while
Erika Toney poster her first career double-double as a Lady Pioneer scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Concord was led by Danielle Catron as shed scored 16 points and had five rebounds.
Glenville State will host the UVa-Wise Cavaliers at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, December 3
rd in their first home contest of the season.
