Glenville, W.Va. - The Lady Pioneers basketball team went on the road Friday night and picked up their fourth straight win as they defeated Bluefield State by 53 points, 98-45.
Glenville State (7-1, 3-1) lead the entire game over Bluefield State (0-10) as the Lady Pioneers had a great performance. GSC had six players score in double figures and hit 21 total three-pointers in the game.
The Lady Pioneers scored 37 points off of 42 Bluefield State turnovers. GSC also scored 21 second chance points to the Big Blues six points.
Also in the win GSC tied the NCAA DII Women's Basketball Record for Three-Point Field Goal Attempts with 80 in the game tying Oklahoma Panhandle which set the record back in 2011. GSC and Bluefield State also broke the record in Three-Point Field Goals Attempts (both teams) with 106 in tonight's game surpassing 90 attempts which they set last year.
Odyssey Trussell scored a game high 21 points for GSC and grabbed six rebounds in the win while
Erika Toney and
Julie Bishop each scored 12 points. Also for the Lady Pioneers
Tayana Stewart chipped in with 11 points.
Brittany Jackson scored 10 points and
Paris McLeod posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
Bluefield State was led by Elizabeth Doughty as she scored 12 points.
Glenville State will now take on the Apprentice School tomorrow Saturday, December 17
th at Bluefield State. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
