Glenville, W.Va. - The Lady Pioneers basketball team defeated Alderson Broaddus University on Monday as they picked up their sixth straight victory as they won by 25 points, 115-90.
Glenville State (9-1,3-1) would see Alderson Broaddus (2-7) jump out to a fast five point lead 12-7 at the 7:22 minute mark however the Lady Pioneers would then go on a 28-11 run to end the first quarter as GSC led 35-23 and never looked back.
The Lady Pioneers had a great shooting performance drilling 24 three-pointers for 37 percent and shot 44 percent from the floor. GSC's defense forced 24 turnovers and scored 36 points off of them.
The Lady Pioneers also outscored the Battlers in the paint 43 to 39 and scored 32 second chance points.
Odyssey Trussell scored a team high 21 points to lead GSC while
Paris McLeod, the MEC Player of the Week, scored 19 points, had eight rebounds, and dished out six assists.
Kristin DesRocher went 4-of-10 from deep as she scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds, and handed out six assists.
Also for GSC
Tayana Stewart scored 16 points while
Julie Bishop chipped in with 15 points off the bench and
Courtney Davis scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Alderson Broaddus was led by Devyn Bonner as she scored a game high 25 points.
Glenville State will not return to action till after the New Year when they travel to Notre Dame College on Tuesday, January 3
rd at 5:30 p.m.
