Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers picked up their 24^th win of the season and won the MEC regular season championship and earned the #1 seed in the MEC Tournament next week as they defeated the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats.

Glenville State (24-4, 18-4) found their selves trailing West Virginia Wesleyan at halftime by five points 34-29.

The Lady Pioneers used a big third quarter as they outscored the Bobcats 35 to 15 and never looked back as they took control and cruised to a 26 point victory 86-60.

GSC scored 18 points off of turnovers and had a big advantage in the paint outscoring WVWC 42 to 22.

Senior Brittany Jackson led the Lady Pioneers with a game-high 19 points while Paris McLeod chipped in with 18 points and 12 rebounds finishing with a double-double.

Courtney Davis scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.

West Virginia Wesleyan (6-19, 6-16) was led by Stacy Remer with 18 points while Nicole Gilyard chipped in with 16 point and nine rebounds.

Glenville State again claimed the regular season title and is the top seed for this year's tournament. The Pioneers won the MEC Tournament title in 2014. They will return to action on Thursday, March 2^nd and will play the winner of #8 Charleston / #9 West Liberty at 6:00 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center.
