Glenville, W.Va – The Pioneers dropped a high scoring conference contest at Wheeling Jesuit Tuesday night by a final score of 104-94.

The Pioneers and the Cardinals had a back and forth battle throughout the first half. Several lead changes later, the Pioneers found themselves down 53-41 at the half.

Brooks Ely led the Pioneers in the first half with 14 points, while
Terry Davis Jr. added 13 points and five rebounds at the intermission. The Pioneers shot 56 percent on 15-of-27 shooting from the field. They were also 7-of-10 from the free throw line for 70 percent.

Preston Boswell paced the Cardinals in the first half with 12 points. WJU shot 58 percent from the field on 22-of-38 shooting. Kyle Ritz notched 10 points and four rebounds throughout the first half. The Cardinals shot 4-of-5 from the free throw line at 80 percent.

Ely led the Pioneers on the night with 20 points while Davis Jr. added 19 points and eight rebounds just missing a double-double.

Boswell finished with a game high 22 points, while Haywood Highsmith finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Pioneers shot very well on the night, shooting 55 percent (34-of-62) on two point field-goals, and 41 percent (11-of-27) on three-point attempts. The Pioneers were 75 percent (15-of-20) from the free-throw line.

The Cardinals shot 56 percent from the floor and 48 percent from three. They converted on 14-of-17 free-throw attempts.
