Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneers dropped a close contest on the road Thursday night to the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan by 10 points, 97-87.

Glenville State (8-7, 5-6) would trail West Virginia Wesleyan after one half of play by four, 40-36.

In the second half both teams would go back and fourth early with the Bobcats holding a two point lead 66-64 with 7:23 to play. The Bobcats however then went on a 17-6 run as they built a 13 point lead over the Pioneers with just 2:49 left in the game.

GSC would try and make late run but would end up on the losing end falling by 10 points.

The Pioneers shot 51 percent from the floor and 42 percent from deep as they hit 12-of-28 three-pointers. The Bobcats also shot well in the game as they finished the night shooting 63 percent from the floor and 34 percent from behind the arc.

Glenville State outscored West Virginia Wesleyan in the paint 36 to 28 and the Pioneers bench outscored the Bobcats bench 32 to 8.

Brett Morris led all scores with 27 points in the game and finished with eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Jalon Plummer scored 16 points off the bench as he went 4-of-6 from deep while Terry Davis Jr. chipped in with 14 points.

West Virginia Wesleyan (8-9, 5-6) was led by Mo Berchie as he scored 26 points.

The Pioneers will return home this Saturday, January 21^st as they host the Shepherd University Rams at 4:00 p.m. from the Waco Center.
