Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneers dropped a tough home game to the Blue Knights of Urbana on Thursday night at the Waco Center by 11 points.
Glenville State (8-9, 5-8) would fall behind in the first half and Urbana would end up taking a 10 point lead into halftime 42-32 over the Pioneers.
In the second half Urbana extended their lead to 20 at the 13:19 minute mark 61-41. The Pioneers chipped into the lead however Urbana again gained control of the contest as they pushed their lead to 24 points, their largest of the game, 77-53 with under 10 minutes to play.
Glenville State made a late run and cut the Blue Knights lead to 10 points three different times but came up short as they fell to Urbana 96-85 dropping their third straight.
Brett Morris scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Pioneers.
Jon Dunmyer chipped in with 23 points and
Terry Davis Jr. finished with 10 points.
As a team GSC only had eight assists on the night.
Urbana (9-10, 4-9) had six players score in double figures with DeQuan Abrom leading the team with 21 points.
The Pioneers return to action this Saturday, January 28
th as they host Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m.Â
