Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Pioneer men's basketball team dropped their first game of 2017 as they fell on the road at Notre Dame College snapping a five game winning streak by the Pioneers.

Glenville State (5-4, 2-3) had a nice night shooting from the floor as they shot 43 percent while Notre Dame (9-2, 3-2) shot 56 percent from the field. However the Pioneers really struggled from deep as they went just 6-of-25 on three-pointers for 24 percent while the Flacons shot 40 percent from deep in the game.

After the first half of action GSC would go into the break only trailing the Falcons by one point 48-47 as both teams went back and fourth as we had three ties and 10 lead changes just in the first half.

In the second half Notre Dame started hot as they went on a 21-11 run as the Falcons went up 69-58 with 14:35 in the game. Glenville State would battle back and make a run of their own as they took a four point lead, 86-82 with 6:45 to play.

But Notre Dame then scored the next four points as they tied it up at 86 all with 4:39 left. After that tie the Falcons outscored the Pioneers in the last four minutes 11-7 as they defeated GSC, 97-93.

Glenville State had four players score in double figures with Brett Morris leading the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. Jon Dunmyer scored 21 points for the Pioneers.

Terry Davis Jr. posted his second career double-double as a Pioneer as he scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Jalon Plummer also chipped in with 17 points off the bench.

Notre Dame was led by Will Vorhees as he scored a game high 44 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Glenville State will now travel to Urbana University this Thursday, January 5^th for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off with the Blue Knights.
