Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneers had five players score in double figures as they went on the road Thursday night and picked up an 87-78 win over the Urbana University Blue Knights.
Glenville State (6-4, 3-3) had a tremendous night shooting as they shot 52 percent from the floor and 45 percent from deep nailing 5-of-11 three-pointers.
Urbana (6-6, 1-5) took a slight lead into halftime over the Pioneers by five, 41-36.
In the second half the Pioneers would outscore the Blue Knights 51-37 and make a 17-13 run in the last three minutes as GSC claimed the victory.
Terry Davis Jr. scored 22 points for GSC and grabbed a team high eights rebounds while
Jalon Plummer scored 17 points off the bench.
Jon Dunmyer and
Brett Morris each scored 14 points in the victory while
Darhius Nunn scored 13 points and dished out a game high four assists.
Urbana was led by DeQuan Abrom as he scored 22 points on the night.
The Pioneers will return to action this Sunday, January 8
th as they host the Hilltoppers of West Liberty at 4:00 p.m.
