Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneers fell to California University of Pennsylvania on day two of the Jakobi's Journey Basketball Classic 105-94 despite Darhius Nunn's superb night scoring 37 points.
Glenville State (0-2) shot 50 percent from the floor and 35 percent from deep while California University of Pennsylvania (2-0) shot 48 percent from the field and finished 36 percent from deep.
The Pioneers turned the ball over 14 times in the game while the Vulcans gave it away seven times. The Vulcans held a big advantage in the paint as they outscored the Pioneers 50 to 39 and also had 26 second-chance points while GSC had just 11 second-chance points.
GSC's Darhius Nunn scored a carrier high 37 points on the night as he finished 15-of-27 from the field. Nunn also dished out five assists and grabbed four rebounds. Jon Dunmyer chipped in with 13 points and pulled down a team high eight rebounds. Dwayne Chastain Jr. scored 11 points off the bench.
The Vulcans were led by Jahmere Howze who finished the night with a double-double as he scored a game high 44 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. Terry Davis Jr. chipped in with 19 points and eight boards with Isaiah Lewis scoring 13 points.
Glenville State (0-2) will have a quick turnaround as they host the Alderson Broaddus Battlers this Wednesday, November 15
th at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup from the Waco Center.
