DesRocher Leads Lady Pioneers Past UVa-Wise

Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers claimed their seventh straight win as Kristin DesRocher scored a game high 22 points to help lead GSC past the Cavaliers of UVa-Wise 107-77.

Glenville State (8-1, 6-0) forced UVa-Wise (1-5, 2-7) into 35 turnovers while scoring 46 points off of them.

UVa-Wise took a five point lead early at the 6:52 minute mark 10-5. GSC however then went on a 14-0 run and took a 10 point lead at the 3:46 minute mark of the first quarter at 20-10 and never looked back.

Glenville State would take a 24 point lead into halftime over UVa-Wise, 59-35.

The Lady Pioneers outscored the Cavaliers in the second half 48-42 in route to a 30 point victory.

Glenville State had a big advantage in the paint outscoring UVa-Wise 59-36 while GSC also won the rebounding battle by six, 46-40.

Kristin DesRocher scored a game high 22 points with 19 of them coming in the first half. DesRocher went 8-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-11 from deep while also dishing out three assists and grabbing three rebounds.

Paris McLeod scored 19 points in the victory while also having four assists and five steals. Bhrea Griffin chipped in with 15 while Taylor Parker scored 14 points. Emily Stoller scored 12 points and Courtney Davis just missed a double-double as she scored 10 point and grabbed nine boards.

The Cavaliers had three players in double figures with Hanna Oliver leading the way with 17 points while Dakotah Turner scored 12 points and Alle Moore chipped in with 10 points.

Glenville State (8-1, 6-0) will return to action Thursday, December 14th when they travel to Point Park University.
