Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State Pioneers fell short on Saturday afternoon on the road at #7 West Liberty 93-82.Â
Glenville State (11-13, 8-12) had a tough night shooting from deep as they went 5-of-25 from behind the arc for just 20 percent.
The Hilltoppers of West Liberty would hold a seven point lead over the Pioneers at the half 46-39.
In the seocnd half of action GSC would go on a 17-7 run as they tied the game up at 53-53 at the 16:03 minute mark. GSC would be able to keep it close the rest of the way however West Liberty went on a run at the 5:14 minute mark as they outscored GSC in the final five minutes 17-9 as they held on to defeat the Pioneers 93-82.
GSC had a big lift from their bench as they outscored the Hilltoppers bench 54 to 36.
Jon Dunmyer had himself a great day for the Pioneers as he scored a game-high 34 points.
Terry Davis Jr. chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds while
Brett Morris had a double-double as he scored 12 points and had 14 rebounds, his 11th double-double of the year.
West Liberty (24-2, 18-2) had five players in double figures with Brandon Smith leading the way with 18 points.
Glenville State will return home to the Waco Center on Thursday, February 23rd as they host Farimont State at 7:30 p.m.
