Glenville, W.Va. – The #20 Glenville State Lady Pioneers used a big second quarter as they outlasted the Fairmont State University Falcons on Thursday night picking up their 23^rd victory of the season.

Glenville State (23-4, 17-4) took just a four point lead after one quarter 16-12 however the Lady Pioneers outscored FSU in second 26 to 16 as they held a 14 point lead 42-28 at halftime.

Fairmont State outscored GSC in the second half of action 50 to 45 however the Lady Pioneers went on to claim the victory by nine 87-78.

The Lady Pioneers defense caused 26 turnovers and converted them into 34 points in the game. GSC also outscored FSU in the paint 44 to 40.

Glenville State had four players score in double figures with Paris McLeod leading the way with 22 points to go with seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Erika Toney chipped in with 14 points as she went 6-of-9 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds.

Julie Bishop and Brittany Jackson each scored 11 points while Courtney Davis grabbed a team-high nine rebound to go with seven points.

Fairmont State (16-11, 13-8) was led by Amanda Ruffner as she had a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Deidra Combs chipped in with 24 points for the Falcons.

Glenville State will host the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday, February 25^th in their final home game before the MEC Tournament. Saturday is also Winter Homecoming and Fan Appreciation Day as well as Senior Day. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
