Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State College men's and women's basketball teams have secured a spot in the 2018 Mountain East Conference Basketball Tournament to be held February 28th through March 4th at the Charleston Civic Center.
 
The Pioneer men's basketball team will play at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening as the 10 seed taking on UVa-Wise, the seven seed. This is the second year in a row the Pioneers will take on the Cavaliers in the seven-ten matchup. Last year GSC beat UVa-Wise, 84-66 in the MEC First round. However GSC is 0-2 against the Cavaliers this season.

The Lady Pioneer basketball team, the MEC Regular Season Champs, enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will await the winner of the eight seeded Shepherd Rams and the nine seeded Concord Mountain Lions. GSC will play Shepherd/Concord on Thursday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the MEC Quarterfinals. This is the second straight year that the Lady Pioneers won the MEC Regular Season Title and enters as the over all one seed.
