Buckhannon, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer softball team dropped a double-header to the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats on the road on Wednesday night.
Game one saw the Lady Pioneers go scoreless and hitless as the Bobcats took the game by a final of 8-0 in five innings.
West Virginia Wesleyan did their damage in the third and fourth innings as they scored four runs in each. The Bobcats also finished the contest with nine hits.
Ally Brown pitched 4.0 innings allowing eight runs on nine hits.
Game two also belonged to the Bobcats as they again defeated GSC in five innings this time 10-1.
West Virginia Wesleyan jumped out to an 8-0 lead after scoring four runs in the first and four in the second inning. The Bobcats added two more in the fourth as they went up 10-0.
Glenville State scored their lone run in the fifth inning when
Ally Brown singled to second base scoring
McKenzie Edmonds as WVWC made an error. However, the Lady Pioneers fell 10-1.
Tori Ward gave up four runs on four hits on the mound while
Celina Maberto gave up six runs on nine hits with one strike out.
McKenzie Edmonds went 1-for-2 while
Ally Brown also went 1-for-2.
GSC recorded just two hits and committed one error while WVWC recorded 13 hits and also committed an error.
Glenville State (18-26, 6-18) will return to action this weekend on Saturday, April 21 when they host the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets at 1:00 p.m. from the Sue Morris Sports Complex.Â
