Glenville, W.Va. - In week three of the season the Pioneers will hit the road on Saturday, September 15^th when they travel to Shepherdstown, W.Va. to battle the Shepherd University Rams at 12 p.m. from Ram Stadium.
 
GSC (1-1, 1-1) fell last week in week two of the season in their home opener to the Falcons of Notre Dame, 27-17. The Pioneers racked up 300 passing yards while limiting Notre Dame (2-0, 2-0) to just 132 passing yards. However, NDC outgained GSC in the game in total offense, 383 to the Pioneers 325.
 
Mario Pender rushed for just 23 yards on nine carries while Thomas Boles totted the ball 10 times for 13 yards.
 
Jaylen McNair went 26-of-50 for 300 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Javon Butler had himself quite a game as he caught 12 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Tre Crutcher hauled in 10 balls for 87 yards.   
 
Defensively, Dominic Cizauskas would lead the Pioneers with 11 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. Quintavius Twine racked up eight tackles for GSC.
 
Notre Dame's Jaleel McLaughlin rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Chris Brimm went 19-for-26 for 132 yards and two touchdowns for the Falcons.
 
The Pioneers ended up just 2-of-15 on third down conversions while Notre Dame wasn't much better as they went just 3-of-16.
 
The Shepherd Rams (0-1, 0-1) are coming off of a bye week. However, in week one of the season Shepherd fell on the road at Notre Dame, 35-33.
 
Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent had a stellar debut completing 36-of-56 passes for 518 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. The 518 yards were the second-most in MEC history. However, two of the interceptions were deep in Notre Dame territory.
 
Ryan Feiss finished with 13 catches for 172 yards and one touchdown. Wanya Allen had 11 grabs for 165 yards and one TD. Shepherd had 599 yards of total offense.
 
The Pioneers and Rams have meet 18 times since 2000 with Shepherd holding a 12-6 record against the Pioneers. GSC did defeat Shepherd for four straight years from 2007 to 2010. Since joining the MEC, the Pioneers are 0-5 against the Rams. GSC fell to Shepherd last year at home, 42-34.
