North Miami, Fla. – On Friday afternoon the GSC Lady Pioneer women's soccer team fell on the road to the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats, 7-0.
Glenville State (0-3-0) tallied 11 total shots in the contest while Johnson & Wales (3-1-0) finished with 20 total shots.
The Lady Pioneers fell behind early in the contest as the Wildcats scored four goals in the first 20 minutes of action as they had a commanding lead, 4-0. Johnson & Wales added two more goals before halftime as they led, 6-0.
Glenville State tried to mount a comeback in the second half. The Lady Pioneers recorded nine of their 11 shots in the second half but could not find the net as they ended up falling to the Wildcats, 7-0.
Brie Webb had three shots and two on goal for GSC while
Kacey Evans had two shots on goal, and
Victoria Porterfield also had a shot on goal.
Goalie,
Hannah Beaty had two saves while giving up five goals while fellow goalkeeper
Morgan Smailes had five saves and allowed two goals.
Johnson & Wales was led by Savannah Jackson as she scored three goals for the Wildcats.
Glenville State (0-3-0) will return to action on the road this Sunday, September 9
th at 6 p.m. when they battle Palm Beach Atlantic.
