Rough Play Leads to GSC Loss

Glenville, W.Va. – GSC traveled to Elkins, West Virginia to face off in a conference match up against the Senators of Davis &Elkins. The Lady Pioneers fell 0-4 pushing them to 2-10 on the year and 0-8 in conference.
 
In the first half, D&E was able to find the back of the net three times to take a 3-0 lead over the Lady Pioneers. In the second half, GSC increased their energy level after recording just one shot over the first 45 minutes of the conference contest. Morgan Smailes made four saves in 84 minutes before Alyssa Banks came on in relief in goal.
 
In the previous match up against the Senators, the Lady Pioneers forced over time play where they fell one to nil. In addition to overtime play, the Blue and White forced many yellow cards in both match ups in favor, and against the Lady Pioneers.
 
The Lady Pioneers were out shot, 14-9, where Leighana Weaver, Miki Abe, Carley Midkiff and Kayleigh Arbogast would all record a shot on goal each.
 
GSC return to the pitch at West Virginia Wesleyan in a mid week conference clash, Wednesday October 23rd at 4:00pm. The Lady Pioneers are 0-3 against the Bobcats.
