Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers traveled to Athens, W.Va. to face of against top seed in MEC South Division. GSC fell short against the Mountain Lions of Concord 6-0 pushing their record to 2-6 on the season.
In the first half, Nadira Muhammad took the first shot for the Blue and White but missing left at the 18' mark. Concord would rally back and make the first goal of the match taking the lead 1-0 with 22 minutes left in the match. At the end of the half, the Mountain Lions out shot the Lady Pioneers 12-1 with three on target.
Concord was quick to extend their lead 6-0 within the first 15 minuets of the second half. Maddison Noland would try to come back for the Lady Pioneers as she had two shots against Concord.
Concord outshot GSC 36-3 with 13 on goal, Morgan Smailes maintained three saves on the day, Alyssa Banks had four.
The Lady Pioneers are looking to bounce back Sunday evening to face off against University of Charleston in an away Conference match up. Kick off is October 6th at 7pm.
