Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers fall in final match up of the season against the regionally ranked Mountain Lions of Concord University 10-0 on senior night.
Concord would strike first at the 40:00-minute mark of the first half as Rachel Bell scored on an unassisted goal as the Mountain Lions held a 1-0 lead.
Concord add to their lead at the 35:00-minute mark as Courtney Wallace scored on an assist from Leah Foster as the Mountain Lions held, 2-0 lead.
The Mountain Lions then added six more goals in the first as they took an 8-0 lead over the Lady Pioneers at the break.
Concord had 25 shots in the first half with 15 of them on goal. GSC didn't record a shot in the first half.
In the second half,
Leighana Weaver had the first shot for GSC at the 40:00-minute mark but it came up short.
The Blue and White defense allowed one Concord goal early in the half but remained scoreless throughout.
GSC totaled eights shots, two on goal all within the second half.
Miki Abe had the second shot at 76 mark.
The Mountain Lions added another nine shots in the second half totaling 34 overall.
Morgan Smailes tallied 10 saves in the match along with senior
Alyssa Banks with another.
The Lady Pioneers conclude their season 3-15 on the year while honoring four program seniors.
