Glenville, W.Va. – The No. 13 nationally ranked Glenville State Lady Pioneers will travel to West Chester, Pennsylvania to square off against the Marauders of Millersville and Golden Rams of West Chester November 9
th and 10
th.
The Lady Pioneers will take on Millersville, Saturday November 9
th at 12pm and then Wester Chester Sunday, November 10
th at 2pm.
Glenville State finished 30-3 last season and went 21-1 in conference play. They also won their 3
rd straight MEC Regular Season Championship and their 2
nd consecutive MEC Tournament Championship while also hosting the First Round of the NCAA DII Tournament. GSC returns 12 members off of the 2018-19 team including
Emily Stoller,
Re' Shawna Stone,
Ty Armstrong and
Zakiyah Winfield.
Senior,
Emily Stoller out of Fairmont, West Virginia scored a total of 605 points averaging 18.3 points per game with a season high 44 points against West Liberty. Stoller would total 97, three point shots earning her a spot on the 1
st Team –All MEC, Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team and 2
nd D2CCA-All Atlantic team.
Sophomore Re'Shawna Stone, native of Waynesville, Montana was the MEC Freshman of the Year. She led the Blue and White in assist with 116 while scoring 569 total points. Stone, scored her season high 30 points also against West Liberty to earn herself a spot on 2
nd Team All-Conference and MEC Tournament MVP.
Senior,
Ty Armstrong from El Dorado, Arkansas would also make a valuable impact for the Lady Pioneers playing in 33 games. During the 2018 season she made 81 three-pointers with a .345 three-point shooting percent. The transfer came to GSC from Pensacola State College and earned herself a spot on the MEC All-Tournament Team.
Sophomore,
Zakiyah Winfield out of Reading, Pennsylvania was additionally a standout player for the Lady Pioneers in 2018. Last season she totaled 317 points, averaging 9.6 a game, with her game high of 18 points.
Millersville University finished 12-16 last year earning a spot in the PSAC tournament. The Marauders fell early to West Chester in the first round.
West Chester University completed the year 16-14 on the season also earning themselves a spot in the PSAC tournament, but fell short in the quarterfinals against Bloomsburg University.
