Philippi, W. Va. – The last time the Glenville State Pioneer wrestling program took the mat Gerald Ford was the United States President and the year was 1975. However, that changed on Saturday, January 9
th as the Pioneers wrestling against Alderson Broaddus University and West Liberty University.
Match One – Glenville State vs. West Liberty
What Happened
The Pioneers would take three of the 10 matches but also forfeited two matches.Â
Alec Fulwider would earn the first single victory for GSC, wrestling at 141 lbs., defeating West Liberty's Parker Mazik by decision, 11-6.
Glenville State's next victory came when
Cole Houser, 165 lbs., defeated Christian Rivera by 9-3 decision.
The other victory for the Pioneers came when
Gavin Shamblin, 285lbs., defeated Omari Green by fall.
However, West Liberty would defeat the Pioneers in the match 37-12.
Cole Houser would win another exhibition match over Blake Miller while GSC's
Jacob Puckett fell in an exhibition to Carter Winegardner.

Kevin Meloni, 125lbs., would get the Pioneers going in the second match of the day as he won by medical forfeit over the Battlers Sean Vosburgh.

However, GSC struggled as the only other match they would take against the Battlers came when
Alec Fulwider won by pin over Chad Miller. Glenville State fell to Alderson Broaddus 37-12.
