GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State College is hosting their annual Homecoming Festivities this week, and Saturday's football opponent is a very formidable opponent for the Pioneers; the Notre Dame Falcons, the #10 team in the nation in D-II.
Coach
Mike Kellar's Pioneers will tackle the Falcon challenge, behind a running game that has been very effective the last two weeks; powering for 540 yards in those two games. Running back
Alfred Menjor has been putting up impressive numbers behind an improving offensive line. In last Saturday's 35-21 victory over Alderson-Broaddus, Menjor rambled for 191 yards on 25 carries, and tallied three touchdowns.
Defensively, linebacker
Seth Arnold leads the team with 54 tackles, followed by
Shaun Sterling with 35.
Brandon Penn has snagged a league high five interceptions, with
Jonathan St. Jacque recording five and a half sacks.
Jaylen Jones leads the team with six pass break-ups.
Glenville enters the contest with a 2-4 overall mark, all of which have been Mountain East contests. Notre Dame is 6-1 overall, and 5-1 in the MEC.
Kickoff is set for 1:30 on Saturday at Morris Stadium.
