GLENVILLE – Glenville State's nationally ranked Lady Pioneers are back in action Monday afternoon, hosting the Fairmont Falcons. It will be a battle for first place in the Mountain East Conference, as each team is currently unbeaten in league play.
Glenville is coming off a 90-72 road win at Frostburg on Wednesday. GSC is currently ranked eighth in the nation, and second in the region, holding an overall record of 8-0, and 4-0 in the MEC.
Fairmont is ranked seventh in the region, and riding a five-game winning streak of their own. On Wednesday night, they defeated West Virginia State 85-77 in the Fairmont. The Falcons are 6-2 overall, and 5-0 in the MEC.
Fairmont's Alyssa DeAngelo leads the MEC in scoring at 18.1 points per game. Glenville's Re'Shawna Stone is third in the league at 17.4 ppg, and is complemented by Zakiyah Winfield who averages 15.2 ppg, is second in the league in field goal percentage (56.7%), and is fourth in assists (3.33).
Tip-off is set for noon in the Waco Center, on McPherson Court.
