Glenville, W.Va. –  The GSC Pioneer hoop squad is set to take on the Notre Dame College Falcons on Friday (March 5) at 11am in the MEC Tournament Quarterfinals at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. Â

Glenville State is the No. 2 seed in the south after going 8-3 overall in 2021. Notre Dame College comes into the contest as the No. 3 seed in the north after going 8-8 this past season.
This is the first meeting in the MEC Tournament between GSC and NDC. Glenville State won the lone matchup this season between the two schools 91-80 back on February 3. This is also the second straight season GSC has made it to the MEC Tournament Quarterfinals.
The last Tournament Championship for the Pioneers came back in 2015. GSC is 7-5 all-time in the Tournament. Since
Justin Caldwell took over the Pioneers in 2018, GSC is 3-2 all-time against Notre Dame.
NDC is led by Jordan Roland as he is averaging 17.6 points per game. Â The Falcons have a great rebounder on the squad in Michael Sampson. Sampson is averaging 10.3 rebounds per game ranking him third in the MEC.
Notre Dame is averaging 80.5 points per game which is seventh overall in the league play while GSC is averaging 97.8 points per game which is second in the MEC only behind West Liberty.
Pioneer Highlights
Glenville State has three players ranking top 12 in the league in scoring.
John Williams leads all scores averaging 26.7 points per game. In his last three contest, Williams as scored 52, 31, and 33 points respectively.

Hegel Augustin is eighth in scoring with 20.1 points per game and
Nick Edwards is 12
th with 18.9 points per contest.

Edwards is second in the MEC in assists with 7.1 per game.
