Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer Football team will return to the confines of Morris Stadium this Saturday, March 27 as they host the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets at 1pm.

The game was originally scheduled for 12pm but has been pushed back and hour and will kick-off at 1pm.

Glenville State (0-2, 0-2) fell on the road last week to the UC Golden Eagles (1-0), 45-0. It was the first time GSC went scoreless in a game since 2012.

Glenville State finished with just three first downs in the contest and they tallied just 67 total yards on 52 plays.

The Pioneer defense allowed 424 total yards in the game.

Glenville State is averaging 3.50 points per game while they are giving up 37.50 points per game.

West Virginia State (1-1, 1-1) is coming into the matchup after falling at home to the Braves of UNC Pembroke, 48-21 last Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets totaled 264 offensive yards in the game on 65 plays while UNC Pembroke racked up 450 yards on 66 yards.

WVSU was disciplined in the game only having three penalties for 19 yards. However, the Yellow Jackets only converted 7-of-16 on third downs.

Donova Riddick is the team's leading passer with 344 yards with three touchdowns and is 27-of-54 with a passer rating of 114.44.

On the ground, Dant'e Jones leads the way with 99 yards on 26 carriers with four touchdowns.

Dustin Crouser is the team's leading tackler with 17 total on the year with a tackle for loss, and an interception.

Tim Heltzel is the Pioneers leading passer with 151 yards and a touchdown. He is 16-for-35 on the season with a passer rating of 85.67. Freshman QB, Corbin Pierson has 30 passing yards on the season and is 5-of-22 passing.

Zay Huff leads GSC in receiving yards with 69 total on four catches and a touchdown. He is averaging 34.50 receiving yards per game.

Bernard Dankyi is the leading rusher, he has carried the ball nine times for 26 yards while Alfred Menjor has 24 rushing yards on 11 carriers.

Jacob Hartman is the team's leading tackler with nine while David Livingston has seven on the season with a tackle for loss, and a sack.

Kickoff between the Pioneers and Yellow Jackets is slated for 1pm from Morris Stadium.
