First Half Spoils Senior Day

Glenville, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Soccer concluded their season dropping their final contest to Concord University 5-0 as the Pioneers held the Mountain Lions scoreless in the second half.
 
Glenville State ended their season 1-7 overall as Concord finishes 7-1 as they now gear up for post season play.  
 
How It Happened
 
First Half:
 
Seven minutes into the contest, Concord scored their first goal of the match. Then adding goals number two and three back to back at the 14-minute mark CU held a 3-0 advantage.
 
The Pioneers however, would be held shot-less as the Mountain Lions scored two more goals before the end of the half leading 5-0.
 
Second Half:
 
Then in a change of page for GSC and five minutes into the second, Mackenzie Hendricks would shoot the Pioneers first two shots of the contests.
 
Eight minutes down the stretch Hendricks would attempt another goal but would be saved by CU's Leah Marsh.
 
Shyanne Martin at the 65-minute mark tallied another shot for GSC but would be high left and again saved by the Mountain Lion's goalkeeper.
 
In the final stretch of the contest and with one last chance to put GSC on the board, Martin would miss high.
 
However, the Pioneers held the Mountain Lions scoreless in the second half as GSC would drop their final contest on senior night 5-0.
 
Inside The Box Score
 
Concord University maintained possession 61% of the match shooting 40 shots with 21 on goal. Glenville State tallied five shots with four on goal.
 
Mackenzie Hendricks picked up three of the five total shots on the night with three on goal as Shyanne Martin shot the final two total shots with one on target. Morgan Smailes tallied 16 saves on the evening.
