Frostburg, MD – Playing a close matchup in game one of the double header against Frostburg State University (18-7, 16-4 MEC), the Pioneers suffered a run rule in game two as GSC drops to 6-27 overall and 3-19 in conference.

How It Happened
Game One:
Mackenzie Martinelli opened the contest with a long shot homerun putting the Pioneers on the board early in the second.
However, the Bobcats answered with a two run shot in the fourth putting FSU up 2-1.
In the third,
Katelyn Richardson added a single and in the fourth and fifth Martinelli and Ashely Fridley both drew a walks as each were left stranded.
The Pioneers then had an exciting sixth inning tying the ball game at two all starting with a single from
Karra Smith. Advancing to second on a wild and third on Martinelli's ground ball, Smith would score off
Catherine Pelfrey's grounder to second.
However, in the seventh the Bobcats would win in walk off fashion 3-2.
Kaylee Drake pitched a good outing in her five innings pitched allowing just four hits with two strikeouts.
Celina Maberto although picked up the loss on the mound.
Game Two:
Karra Smith opened the Pioneer's offensive attack with a single in the first with
Kaylee Drake,
Jessica Williams and
Katelyn Richardson each singling in the second. However, the Bobcats in the bottom half scored eight runs.
In the third,
Mackenzie Martinelli and Smith each singled again as the Bobcats swiped another four runs holding GSC to a 12-0 deficit.
Looking to add a run for the Pioneers, Williams singled but held on base in the fourth and in the fifth
Ashley Fridley would be hit by pitch as both were left stranded ending the ball game 12-0 in the fifth.
On the mound, Peyton Wrentz gave up six hits and two walks as
Celina Maberto took the second loss as well allowing for five runs.
