Glenville State is looking to get back into the win column this weekend, as the Pioneers head north to play West Liberty in Mountain East Conference football action. The two teams face off on Saturday at the Hilltoppers' West Family Stadium.

Glenville enters the game at 1-2 overall and in the MEC, while West Liberty now has an overall record of 2-2, and a league record of 2-1. West Liberty owns a pair if shutout victories; 24-0 over Alderson Broaddus, and last weekend, 31-0 over West Virginia Wesleyan. Glenville defeated Concord 17-10 in Week One.

Alfred Menjor leads the GSC rushing attack with 151 total yards. The bulk of his yardage came in a strong performance last week, as the freshman from Tallahassee, Florida ran for 116 yards on 27 carries vs. Wheeling.

Veteran
Javon Butler has been the primary target for GSC quarterbacks, hauling 18 passes over the first three games for 302 yards. The Pioneers are averaging 195.7 yards passing per game, and 71.3 yards rushing. The Pioneer defense has been strong against the rush, holding opponents to 90.3 yards per game. They have also held opposing quarterbacks to only 6.06 yards per passing attempt.

Defensively, linebacker
Seth Arnold leads the team in tackles with 31, followed by
Shaun Sterling with 21.
Jonathan St. Jacque remains nationally ranked with five sacks, and has been complemented by
Ellis Lilly and
Abu KaiKai with two apiece.
Brandon Penn has a recorded a team-high two interceptions.

Brian Hill…both of whom served stints on the staff of West Liberty Head Coach Roger Waialae. Coach Waialae is the longest tenured head coach in the MEC, currently in his 17
th year at the helm of the Hilltopper program.
