The Pioneers Travel to Notre Dame College to Face the Falcons

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State's Football team coached by Mike Kellar is set to face the Notre Dame College Falcons this Saturday. The Pioneers are 1-4 in the last five matchups against Notre Dame College. In Coach Kellar's first season with the Pioneers, Glenville was able to pull off the upset defeating the Falcons 23-20. Both squads enter the game with a winning record.

A Look at Notre Dame College

Note Dame's offense during the 2022 campaign has averaged 34.7 points per game which is second in the Mountain East Conference. The Falcons have a balanced attack with Idris Lawrence and Chriss Brimm. Lawrence leads NDC's rushing attack with 637 yards, five touchdowns, and 5.5 yards per attempt. Tyris Dickerson has been the second back for the Falcons accounting for 173 yards and three touchdowns this season. Quarterback Chris Brimm leads Notre Dame College's passing attack. So far during the 2022 campaign Brimm has thrown for 1,639 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Senior Jeremy Hamilton's 377 receiving yards and two touchdowns leads all NDC receivers. As a team, the Falcons are only allowing 20.1 points per game. Senior linebacker Nathan Moore has produced a conference-high in tackles with 79. Teddy Tiokeng's 4.5 sacks this season have been a team-high so far this season. The Falcons' pass defense is anchored by Junior Antoine Holloway II, Tavon Hooks, and Sophomore Wendell McClain. Notre Dame College's special teams have been another strong suit for the team. The Falcons have only missed two field goals this season.

A Look at The Pioneers

On the Offensive side of the ball, Glenville like Notre Dame is a threat on both sides. The Pioneers average 180.3 rushing yards per game and 254.4 passing yards per game. Seven games into the season Glenville's total offense ranks third in the MEC. The rushing attack is led by Alfred Menjor with 589 yards, four touchdowns, and averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Junior Saeed Galloway has proven to be the Pioneers short distance back scoring seven touchdowns. With the injury to Jeff Miller Freshman Anthony Garrett has stepped in for Glenville. In two games Garrett has thrown for 462 yards averaging 231 yards per game. Javian Bellamy is halfway to a 1,000 receiving yards mark this season with 576 yards so far. Both Orion Bonner and Freshman Tariq Miller have accounted for three receiving touchdowns. Defensively Seth Arnold once again leads the Glenville in tackles. So far during the 2022 campaign, Arnold has produced 60 tackles. Marion Lawson has been a problem in the backfield with four sacks. As a team, Glenville's pass defense has created 12 interceptions this season. Dane Lynch Jr. leads the team with three interceptions. Punter Avery Book has been solid once again for the Pioneers producing eight punts inside the 20-yard line and three punts traveling over 50-yards.
