Women’s Soccer Ends 2022 Season With a 5-0 Loss Against Concord

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State's Women's Soccer team ends the 2022 campaign with a 5-0 loss against Concord University. There was a total of seven bookings in the match with the Lady Pioneers accounting for three of them. Glenville State would be outshot 21-3 in today's contest.

The Lady Pioneers failed to create any shots in the first half of play. However, Glenville had opportunities to create from corner kicks but could not convert. In the 16th minute of the match, the Mountain Lions Leah Foster found the back of the net giving Concord a 1-0 lead. After allowing the first goal the Lady Pioneers soaked up the Mountain Lions' pressure. Towards the end of Concords' consistent pressure paid off. They would score three goals in a span of eight minutes. During this stretch Nora Voisey caught fire scoring all three goals.

In the second half of the match, the physicality picked up a total of seven fouls called. Three of Concord's players would pick up yellow cards and two Lady Pioneers as well. Freshman Katy Lawerence in the 68th minute created Glenville's first shot of the day but the Mountian Lions keeper made the save. After the 79th minute, both teams had to play a man down. Concord's Abby Weingart and Glenville State's Alyssa West received their second yellow card disqualifying them from the remainder of the match. Late in the second half, the Mountain Lions scored once more extending their lead to 5-0.

Hannah Hill, Jordyn Dansby-Ross, and Oluwatobi Jonna Oladapo played the entire match for the Lady Pioneers. Freshman Katy Lawrence and Hannah Hill both finished the match with a shot on goal.
