GSU Wrestling Wraps up Battle on the Gridiron Two 1-2

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State Wrestling was back in action this today in the Battle on the Gridiron Two. As a team, the Pioneers went 1-2 on the day winning against the University of Findlay 26-17. Glenville's losses came against the number three team in the nation the University of Indianapolis (12-17) and the 14th-ranked Mercyhurst University (22-23).

Two Individuals for the Pioneers went undefeated in the Battle on the Gridiron Two. Both Cole Houser and Gavin Quiocho were (3-0). Quiocho a Sophomore from Parkersburg, W.Va. picked up a nationally-ranked win against number four in the nation Mercyhurt's Eric Bartos.

Hunter Delong, Gaetano Deleonardis, and Devin Easton all were (2-1) in today's duals. Delong also from Parkersburg W.Va wrestled against two nationally ranked opponents. He was able to pick up the win against the ninth-ranked wrestler Hunter Reed from Findlay University but fell by decision to Dillon Walker from Mercyhurst who is currently ranked third. Deleonardis is now (6-2) this season. Easton picked up his first loss of the 2022 campaign against the University of Indianapolis.

Jared Campbell the transfer from Notre Dame College made his Pioneer debut by going (2-0) and picking up wins against Findlay and Mercyhurst. Jordan Williams finished the day with (a 1-1) record. Williams's only loss of duals came against Indianapolis's Derek Blubaugh who was ranked #2 in the country.

The Pioneers will be back in action at the Ohio Collegiate Open Sunday hosted by Case Western Reserve University.
