Fairmont, W.Va. - Coach Caldwell's squad picked up their first win of the 2022-23 season against Edinboro University. The Pioneers forced a total of 30 turnovers in this afternoon's contest. Edinboro's turnovers lead to 33 points for Glenville State which was 19 more than the Fighting Scotts.

GSU opened up the first half of play on a 9-0 run. With the Pioneers getting out in transition and forcing turnovers, Glenville was able to create high-quality shots. However, Edinboro would produce a nine-point run of their own. Both squads continued to trade baskets until the 11-minute mark. The Fighting Scots converted on an and-one and hit a three to go up 25-17 at the under-ten media timeout.

Not until five minutes left in the half would the Pioneers regain the lead. Freddie Word and Harrison Eghan were both where heavily involved during this stretch. While the Pioneers tied it up at 39-39 at the 16:54 mark, another 9-0 by the Fighting Scotts propelled them to regain the lead. Glenville continued to persevere with standing any advantage Edinboro would take. After a five-second violation against the Fighting Scots, Glenville received the ball underneath their own basket. Turbo picking up the ball off of Freddie Word's foot hit the game-winning three.
