GLENVILLE – Having won three of their last four games, Coach Justin Caldwell's returns home Saturday to close their regular season. The opponent will be the Concord Mountain Lions, in what will be a key standings game for both teams. It will be Senior Day, as the Pioneers will be playing their first game on the Waco Center floor as "Glenville State University."
Glenville's John Williams Jr. is approaching several milestones on the day; he is very close to clinching the league scoring title for the second consecutive year, averaging 24.2 points per game. He is also only 11 points shy of reaching the 1000-point mark…in only his 40th game as a Pioneer, he would become the fastest player to 1000 in program history.
Concord is led by Matt Weir, who is averaging 16.4 points per game.
GSU enters the game 12-14 overall, and 8-13 in the Mountain East Conference. Concord is 13-14 overall, and 10-11 in the MEC.
Tip-off is set for 4:00 on the Waco Center's McPherson Court.
