GLENVILLE – For the third consecutive day, Glenville's Holly Brehm fired a complete game gem, as Glenville's softball team downed Lock Haven 4-1 on Sunday at the Sue Morris Complex. Brehm went the full seven innings, only allowing four hits, while striking out eight.
Brehm was backed by a Pioneer offense that pounded out 11 hits, four of which her of the extra-base variety. Home runs were bombed by freshmen Addison Aguiniga and Sophia Delvecchio, with doubles contributed from freshmen Makenna Negley and Monica Rodelo. Rodelo was three-for-three in the game, while Ashton Palmer had her second consecutive multi-hit game with a pair of singles.
GSU finished a solid 3-2 for their opening weekend. In Brehm's three games, she has struck 36 hitters, while walking only four. She is currently sporting an ERA of 0.86.
Coach Sara Scoone's team is back in action next weekend, hosting Slippery Rock in a four-game set at the Sue Morris Complex. First pitch for each doubleheader will be at 1:00.
