GSU Women’s Golf Places Second at Vulcan Invitational

Belle Vernon, Pa. -The Lady Pioneers wrapped up the final day of the Vulcan Invitational placing second out of the 12-team field. Due to the weather, the event was called after teams finished their first round from Sunday. Individually for the Pioneers Grace Halcrow and Hailey Hendershot finished tied for fourth out of the whole field. Kendall Wall also finished within the top 25 posting a score of 83. Wall finished tied for first in average score for par threes with a 3.00. The Lady Pioneers would produce a tournament-high seven birdies.

Coach McGarry took five members of the developmental squad up to the Vulcan Invitational to evaluate the team and individuals. The developmental team would have to enter as individuals. Upon the end of the event, they would have finished fifth in the event with a team score of 341 defeating conference foes Wheeling University who posted a 344, and Davis and Elkins who finished with a 350. Sophomore Libby Ward lead the developmental team with an 83 placing tied for 14th. Rebekah Sugalski finished the tournament with an 84 followed by Deborah Hill with 85, Kyra Bauer with 89, and Jenna Bertolone with 109.
