Glenville State Wrestling Upsets the No. 4 West Liberty Hilltoppers 21-19

West Liberty, W.Va. - Glenville State Wrestling team pulled off the upset against the Hilltoppers of West Liberty 21-19. The Pioneers remain undefeated in Mountian East Conferences matches. Coach Cotrell's squad since the start of January has been (6-0) in duals. 

The Pioneers started out the dual winning the first two weight classes. Devin Easton was the first one to score for Glenville pinning his opponent in 49 seconds. Gavin Quiocho's match at the 133 weight class would be a battle. The sophomore from Parkersburg, W.Va. came out on top by decision 3-1.

West Liberty quickly regained the lead by winning the 141, 149, and 157 weight classes. Khyvon Grace narrowly sneaked past Ethan Hardy 3-1. Glenville State forfeited the next weight class giving the Hilltoppers 6 points. Then Jamar Williams defeated Tristan Pugh by major decision 12-4.

Towards the end of the dual, the Pioneers started to get on a rhythm. Glenville State in the last five weight classes went (4-1). Guy Deleonardis, Hunter Delong, and Cole Houser all won by decision earning GSU nine points and making it 18-13 in favor of Glenville. However, West Liberty's Drake Kendrex defeated Devan Gauldin pinning him in the second round. The dual would be decided by the 285 weight class.  

Jared Campbell came in clutch for the Pioneers defeating Francesco Borsellino my decision 10-6. Campbell's win propelled Glenville State past the Hilltoppers 21-19.

The Pioneers will be back in action Saturday against the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
