Pioneer Track and Field Heads to YSU Mid-Major Invitational

Youngstown, Ohio - Glenville State Men's and Women's Track and Field teams are set to compete at the Youngstown State University Mid-Major Invitational. Last season Glenville had a solid showing setting multiple personal bests.

The Pioneers are coming off a weekend where 20 new personal bests were set. Two school records were set last week as well in the women's 800-meter run and in the men's 5,000-meter run. Bryce Jarrell was able to break his own record once again with a time of 15:32.45. Freshman Janel Mitchell is the new record holder for the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.02.

With GSU only having one more event before the Mountain East Conference Indoor Championships, the YSU Mid Major Invite will be a good test for Coach Meyers's teams. This weekend's field consists of more than 30 schools along with over 2,000 athletes. A total of nine MEC schools will be competing at the Mid Major Invite.
