WHEELING CARDINALS
The Cardinals are (4-2, 3-2 MEC) heading into Saturday's matchup following their 58-3 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan last week at home.

Zac Bruney is in his sixth season as HC of Wheeling Football. He helped lead the program into its first season in the Mountain East in 2019 and picked up the school's first ever MEC win against Concord during that same year. 2022 was the best season yet for Wheeling under Bruney as he led them to a (7-4, 6-4 MEC) finish which set the single-season win record in program history. He previously spent four seasons as an assistant at Ohio Dominican.

Wheeling features the 4th best offense in the league at 36 PGG and 407.3 YPG. Landon Lutz has started the last three games for the Cardinals and has played in five total games, completing 49 of his 99 passing attempts for 627 yards and six touchdowns. Elijah Young leads the rushing attack with 305 yards on 79 rushes and five touchdowns. Six other Cardinals have 100 or more rushing yards. Quron Winder (15 REC, 310 YDS & 2 TD) and Jermaine Earl (19 REC, 217 YDS & 2 TD) lead a receiving core that has six receivers with triple-digit receiving yards.

Dalton Hoover ranks Top 5 in the conference in tackles with 49 and is tied for the team lead in TFL with 4.5. J.R. Atkinson is second on the team in tackles with 30 and has two interceptions, which ties him with Alex Hill atop the team leaderboard. Marcell Chapman is first for the Cardinals in sacks with three and he also has a forced fumble. Aaron Davis is all over the place in the secondary, totaling 24 tackles, 13 breakups, one TFL and one interception.

The Pioneers enter (2-3, 1-3 MEC) after a 48-40 defeat at West Liberty last Saturday.

Sophomore QB Anthony Garrett is 4th in the conference in passing yards with 1,068. He has completed 85 passes and also has eight touchdown throws. Alfred Menjor has gotten the bulk of the carries this season, racking up 82 touches for 311 yards and one TD score. Saeed Galloway has the most touchdowns on the ground with four.
