CONCORD
The Mountain Lions enter (0-7, 0-6 MEC) following a 34-3 defeat at home to Frostburg State.

Brian Ferguson is in his first year as Head Coach of Concord Football. Ferguson was named HC in May after being the offensive coordinator with the Mountain Lions for three seasons. In 2022, the offense he directed was one of Division II's top offenses. They were top 10 nationally in points per game (39.0), yards per game (487.7), passing yards per game (333.4) and others. He has experience coaching at Jacksonville University, Tiffin, Tusculum and in the Arena Football League with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Jack Mangel has thrown for 1,697 yards and 12 touchdowns so far this season, however the 2022 All-Region selection also has 14 interceptions. On the ground, Kevon Young-Warren is the only 100+ yard rusher on the team with 165 yards and one touchdown. Mangel and Blayne Fergusion also have one rushing score. Kris Copeland has been Mangel's favorite target, bringing in 50 receptions for 570 yards and five touchdowns. Alvin Howard has been another valuable target, catching 16 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns. There are four other receivers with 100 or more receiving yards.

Defensively, Jamari Smith has totaled 59 tackles and five TFL's to lead the Mountain Lions. He is followed by Brodee Rice's 48 tackles and Kendall Bournes' 44 tackles. Mekhi Williams is just one of two players who have recorded an interception, hauling in two of them this season. Lance Blankenship has provided quality pressure on QB's, accumulating 2.5 sacks for the team lead.

GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers come in (3-3, 2-3 MEC) after picking up a much-needed 27-13 Homecoming victory last Saturday over Wheeling.

Anthony Garrett is coming off a three-touchdown, 165-yard performance last week on just nine completions. The sophomore QB is now at 1,233 passing yards and 11 touchdowns on the year. Garrett is accompanied by a balanced running game, led by Alfred Menjor's 420 yards on 110 carries. Saeed Galloway has added 129 yards and four touchdowns while Zavione Wood is now over the century mark with 101 yards rushing. Orion Bonner now has 347 receiving yards and two touchdowns to lead the Pioneer receiving core. Zion Barnette does have the most TD receptions with four and has recorded 280 receiving yards. Tariq Miller has gotten better every game, accumulating 234 receiving yards and two touchdown grabs this year.

Seth Arnold is 5th in the MEC in tackles with 56 while still playing one less game than those ahead of him. JUCO product Steve Bradshaw (29 tackles) and Marshall transfer Brogan Brown (28 tackles) have been a solid addition to the linebacker room. Disruption in the backfield is what Jacob Clark, Jayleem Santos and Brogan Brown have done all season with all three of them having 4.5 TFL's each. Eight different Pioneers have recorded an interception, led by De Vante Roberson's two picks.
