Roger Waialae is in his 19th season as Head Coach of the Hilltoppers. He is now up 93 career wins which ranks 2nd all-time in WLU history behind Joe Bartell who won 118 games en route to his WLU Hall of Fame career. Waialae has put together strong squads since taking over, winning 11 games and going unbeaten through the WVIAC portion of the schedule in 2009. WLU also made it to the NCAA DII Quarterfinals that season. In total, he has coached 17 NCAA DII All-Americans and 60 First Team All-Conference selections.

The rushing attack is led by Khadeem Richards with his 144 yards on 56 carries and one touchdown. Garcia has found the endzone on the ground as well. Rashawn Harvey (42 REC, 523 YDS and 7 TD) and Chris Charles (39 REC, 450 YDS and 3 TD) lead the receiving core and are a big part of the Hilltoppers number one passing offense.
On the defensive side of the ball, Trent Crawford leads the team in tackles by a long shot with 35. The next Hilltopper, Cam Rice, has 21. Rice has been a disruption in the backfield all season though, recording almost double-digit TFLs with 9.5. Brennen Bailey and John Brown have both recorded an interception as well.
