Preview: Football Heads North for Battle with Frostburg State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Football hits the road again on Saturday (Nov. 4) as they travel north to Frostburg State. The only matchup between the two programs came in 2019 when the Pioneers defeated the Bobcats 10-7 in Glenville.

FROSTBURG STATE 
The Bobcats enter (6-2, 5-2 MEC) following a 28-25 loss last week to Charleston on the road. Frostburg is tied for 2nd in the league standings with Fairmont State. 

Eric Wagoner is in his first season leading FSU Football. He previously spent two seasons as the Defensive Coordinator on the Bobcats staff. Before coming to Frostburg, Wagoner was an assistant at Saint Francis (Indiana) for 12 years, serving seven of those as the DC. While at USF, he helped lead the Cougars to NAIA National Championships in 2016 and 2017. Wagoner was also awarded NAIA Coordinator of the Year in 2016. 

Graham Walker has thrown for 1,369 yards on 60.2% passing with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. Sean Aaron has reached the double-digit mark in rushing touchdowns with 10 while adding 637 yards on the ground. Three other Bobcats have rushing touchdowns as well. The receiving core is led by Jamil Bishop's 23 catches for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Jeremiah Gibson has the second most receiving yards with 285.  

Wylan Harich and Colby Street are tied for the team lead in tackles with 40 each. Leanord Scott  has 26 tackles with 11.5 of them being TFLs. Jaylen Parks is up to five sacks on the year to lead the team. The secondary is led by Anthony Smith, who has totaled 23 tackles and a Bobcat leading four interceptions. 

GLENVILLE STATE 
The Pioneers come in (4-4, 3-4 MEC) after a 49-0 defeat at UNC Pembroke last Saturday. Prior to the loss to the Braves, GSU had won two in a row. 

Anthony Garrett is now up to 1,613 passing yards and 13 touchdowns on 127 completions. Alfred Menjor and Saeed Galloway have combined for 701 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Orion Bonner's 451 receiving yards and Zion Barnette's five receiving touchdowns are first on the team in those categories.  

Seth Arnold (65 tackles) and Steve Bradshaw (43 tackles) have combined for 108 tackles on the season at the linebacker position. Arnold also leads the team in TFL's with seven while Jacob Clark and Jamir Diaz both have 5.5. Diaz's three sacks leads the Pioneers as well.
