GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Basketball will welcome Washington Adventist bright and early tomorrow (Dec. 18) for their annual 'Kids Day Game.' The Lady Pioneers will host the Shock in front of elementaries from across the state.

THE OPPONENT
WASHINGTON ADVENTIST
The Shock enter (7-2) as the NAIA opponent has won three of their last four games. WAU only lost to NCAA DI Morgan State 59-57 and NCAA DII Bluefield State 67-66 earlier in the season.
Jered Lyons is in his ninth season as HC of the Shock. Lyons also serves as the Athletic Director for Washington Adventist. From 2017-20, he led WAU to three-consecutive appearances in the conference championship and the program's first 20-win season in 2018-19. Prior to taking over the Shock, Lyons was an assistant with the men's program at Eastern Mennonite University.
Sarah Shamdeen leads the Shock in scoring and is one of five scorers in double figures at 17.0 PPG. Shamdeen also leads the team in assists with 3.3 APG. Shelby Ricks is second on the squad in scoring at 14.4 PPG and is pulling down 10.3 RPG as she averages a double-double. The third-leading scorer, Kori People, is averaging 13.5 PPG and shooting 47% from the field.
THE LADY PIONEERS

The Lady Pioneers come in (6-4) following an off week. GSU last played on Dec. 9 when they were defeated by Frostburg State 102-98 on the road.
Hya Haywood (17.3 PPG) and Lauren Calhoun (16.6 PPG) are the only double-digit scorers for Glenville State as Zhordan Shannon (9.7 PPG) and Chalon Miles (9.0 PPG) are nearing double figures. Calhoun leads the team in rebounds, grabbing 8.3 RPG and Shannon is second on the team with 5.3 RPG. Haywood has been active on the defensive end as well, swiping 3.0 SPG.
