West Liberty, W.Va. -  Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling team battled against the Hilltoppers of West Liberty. Coach Taylor Broadwater's young squad fell by five-tenths of a point to West Liberty 249.410-248.805.

Glenville came out of the opening event with a score of 35.15 keeping them in striking distinct of the Hilltoppers. The Lady Pioneers in the Compulsory had strong performances in the Pyramid and Toss heats. GSU scored a 9.80 in the Pyramid and a 9.75 in the Toss. Coach Broadwater's squad continued to stay close to West Liberty. In the three heats of the Acro Event, Glenville was able to string together a score of 25.30. During the first two heats the Lady Pioneers produced two consecutive scores of nine or better. Heading into the half Glenville kept it close only trailing 90.250-87.550.

Coming out of the half the GSU once again had a strong showing in the Toss Event. The 450 Salto Toss unit of Sadie Eddins, Ashton Lowe, Mackenzie Bathe, Autumn Spangler, and Savannah Duckworth gave Glenville their first advantage of the meet. For the second week in a row, the 450 Salto Toss squad scored greater than 9.50. However, in the Tumbling portion of the meet, the Hilltoppers regained a slight lead before the finale.

The Lady Pioneers put on another strong performance in the Team Event with a score of 87.18 finishing with a final total of 248.805. While Glenville had a better Team Event than the Hilltoppers it would not be enough.

Glenville State will be back in action for the first home meet of the 2023 season hosting Notre Dame College inside the Waco Center.
