Pioneers Have Dominate Showing on Senior Night

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State Wrestling team went 7-0 in the seven exhibition matches against Bluefield State University. The school and Coach Dylan Cottrell's program celebrated the careers of Hunter Delong, Cole Houser, and Luke Martin.

Gavin Quiocho starter of the night with a pin in the first round. Quiocho defeated Bluefield State's Micah Negron in 1:16. Both Tristan Pugh and Ethan Hardy both won their matches keeping the Pioneers undefeated for the night. Seniors Hunter Delong and Cole Houser were up next. Both of the Seniors came out on top by tech fall in the first round 18-3.

Wrestling at the 197 weight class Devan Gualind wrapped up Senior Night wrestling against Gregory Dennard. Both battled throughout the match but Gauldin came out on top. A strong final round by Devin helped him win by major decision 11-3.

Pioneer Wrestling will be back in action next Saturday at the NCAA Super Region Three Championships. The NCAA Super Regional will be held at Tiffin University. Last season the Pioneers were able to send two wrestlers to the NCAA Nationals.
