Lady Pioneer Acrobatics and Tumbling Pick Up Second Win of the 2023 Season

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling team held their first home meet of the 2023 campaign. The Lady Pioneers came out on top against Notre Dame College 257.115-184.355. GSU is now (2-2) this season reaching the two-win mark for the first time since the 2021 season. 

Glenville State came out of the gates with a strong performance in the Compulsory Event. The Lady Pioneers with a score of 35.35 tied their season high. For the second week in a row, GSU  produced a 9.80 in the Pyramid heat. Coach Broadwaters's squad did set a new season high in the Acro portion of tonight's meet. With strong scores in the five and seven elements, the Lady Pioneers finished the heat with a 26.90. 

Once again Glenville State was able to have a strong showing in the Pyramid Event. GSU rattled off three consecutive scores of 9.35 or greater. Starting out with a value of 29.60, the Lady Pioneers scored 28.40 missing out on only 1.2 points. With Glenville setting new season highs they were able to produce an impressive first half. The Lady Pioneers built an 18.95-point advantage and led 90.650-71.700.

Coming out of the half Glenville continued to be dominant. GSU in particular was able to create separation in the Tumbling Event. The Lady Pioneers were able to tally an impressive 49.625. Glenville capped off the night with an 89.84 in the Team Event almost reaching 90 for the second time this season.

The Lady Pioneers will be hitting the road next week facing Mars Hill University on March 7th at 7:00 PM before returning back home to the Waco Center.
